After having his too beautiful face scarred in an accident, Remy LeDuex has buried all of his hopes of ever finding a woman who can look beyond his scars and love all of him. His only thoughts now center around getting Granny Gizelle Fortier to sell him the land he needs to enlarge his helicopter business. He doesn't even see the thunder bolt that strikes him the first time he lays eyes on Rachel, but he feels it all the way to his toes. After all, if there is one thing a Cajun man knows, it's heat.
Neither Rachel nor Remy can deny the instant attraction they feel, yet neither one of them wants to get involved in a relationship. Unfortunately for the two of them, fate, eccentric great aunts, tobacco chewing grannies, and whole passels of LeDuexs have something else in mind. Rachel and Remy find themselves getting burned by more than just the heat in the Louisiana swamps.
Sandra Hill writes an absolutely fabulous story that is a sure page-turner. Her gift for description makes the Louisiana swamps as much a part of the story as the characters themselves. Her characters are wonderfully larger than life, and her love scenes are as hot as the bayou she describes so well. This book is laugh out loud funny, the dialogue alone will keep you turning the pages, but the story will make it impossible to put it down. Definitely a must read this summer.
