Philip Cannon is a computer geek and a social outcast. When he is accepted as a renter for Apartment 15B, Philip has no idea what he is getting himself into. The old widowed lady named Clara Bowman in 15C is a busybody who looks out for the girl who lives alone in 15A, who seems scared of her own shadow. When Philip encounters Aurora in the hallway, he is intrigued by the strange young woman and decides to befriend her. Will Philip be able to help Aurora overcome her fears and help her return to normalcy? Can the two become friends, and maybe even more?
THE AWAKENING by Angela Hunt is one of the most intriguing books I have ever read. It is sure to take you by surprise with its unusual ending. It has all the elements of a great fiction novel-love, doubt, lies, and surprises. I had a tough time putting the book aside when it was time to do other things for awhile, and couldn't wait to get back to it. With the help of Philip, Aurora finally acknowledges God's voice and accepts His love into her heart and life. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a book with substance without lots of fluff. THE AWAKENING provides its reader with a fresh outlook on life and faith, and reminds us of our Father's love for each of us.
