Casey Arnett hides in Richmond Crossing, Tennessee, while recovering the rejection of her estranged husband. He refuses to have children with her and Casey does not want to live a childless life. Despite his stubborn resolve to not have children, Casey still misses him. When a stalker starts to threaten her life, her first reaction is to call her husband.

Jack Arnett rushes to find the person who is intimidating his soon to be ex-wife. He is hoping to ply her back to Los Angeles with his love. He misses her and wants her back with him as soon as possible. He hopes that she can live a life without children. His own upbringing was not a picnic and he can't imagine himself a father.

Both Jack and Casey are shocked when Jack shows up on the Casey's doorstep on the day of her baby shower. Stunned at his own reaction of impending fatherhood, he is determined to keep Casey and the baby safe.

The casts of characters in THE BABY'S BODYGUARD are intriguing. The suspects range from slightly jealous to wildly psychotic. The stalker's identity is a well-kept secret until the very end. Ms. Diamond's writing style has the reader drawn in from the very first page. The cozy atmosphere was interrupted at times with suspense blended in for a perfect mix to the story. The small town feeling of the story made you feel as the characters are your friends. I was pulling for Jack and Casey to have a happy ending. This is a great story to chill out in a swing under the shaded tree with a tall glass of cold lemonade.
