Rafe Santiago is wary of Elena Caulfield. She is hiding something and he knows that secrets have a way of hurting other people. So Rafe decides it’s up to him to find out what is behind her suspicious and secret rendezvous with her friend Kenny and her preoccupation with her horse, Springer. Something is not right and his instincts are screaming caution but as he continues to investigate her, Rafe finds that his heart is in danger of being hurt.
THE BLACK SHEEP AND THE HIDDEN BEAUTY is the second novel in the Unholy Trinity series. Elena is a cautious young woman who is in over her head. Desperate to protect her horse, she isn’t sure if she can open up and trust anyone. Although she tries to be strong, I couldn’t feel a real connection with her. She just didn’t seem exactly the right fit for Rafe. However, her loyalty and her capacity to love are second to none. She would do anything to protect the ones that matter most in her life. Rafe exudes a sex appeal that is hard to ignore. He is a sensual beast but at the same time, he is dedicated to his friends and his job. He is a rock for Elena and would go to great lengths to try and help her. I’ll be curious to see what Ms. Kauffman has in store for Finn, the last of the Trinity members. I can already imagine the roller coaster that may be in store for Finn and his mate.
