Best Friends are for telling your deepest most intimate secrets to, go to the movies with, cry on each others shoulders, and support each other through thick and thin.  Molly O'Brien and Ryan Callaghan are not your typical best friends. They grew up in each other's back pocket.  They teased each other and made bets to see who could out do the other.  Of course, Ryan usually won the bets and poor Molly had to pay the price. The bets continued all through their teenage and college years. On Molly's twenty-first birthday, Ryan's feelings began to change.  She was changing into a beautiful young woman.  She wasn't the sister or the buddy anymore. Molly had grown up before his eyes and without his knowledge. Molly went overseas to
America to work. Ryan started living vicariously and dangerously.  He missed the only person who could keep him in line.  Why is Ryan afraid? Why can't Ryan express himself to Molly?

After a few years, Molly returns home and moves in with Ryan while her home is being renovated.  Ryan is now a Park Ranger. Molly is in the process of settling in and looking for a job in the local community.  While Molly was in the kitchen arranging lunch, Ryan was sitting at the bar and started noticing how different she was.  He found himself watching and wondering what had changed about her.  That evening they went to a local village summer barbeque and dance held for the residents of Boyle.  The local villagers noticed the changes in Ryan and Molly and wondered if they were more than friends.

Ryan decided they should become a couple.  He proposed a bet.  Molly realized there will be kissing involved and still thinks of Ryan as a brother.  Then, to her amazement, kissing him is anything but brotherly. In a dazed look Molly becomes aware that she could become attracted to Ryan.  Why can't Ryan express his feelings?
