It’s 1996 and Travis Parker is the local veterinarian in a small North Carolina town. He enjoys a footloose and fancy-free lifestyle with a full dating schedule, plenty of friends and a lifestyle that allows him plenty of travel.   He is content with his life until beautiful Gabby Holland moves in next door.

Gabby is furious with her new neighbor. His boxer has managed to get her collie pregnant, something Gabby finds appalling. Also, the attractive veterinarian’s lifestyle leaves a lot to be desired. He is a playboy, pure and simple, yet she finds herself attracted to him more each day. What about the feelings she has for her long-time boyfriend, Kevin? How can she be attracted to two men at the same time, or is her relationship with Kevin just a habit?

THE CHOICE is a very poignant and heartwarming story by the gifted author who also brought such memorable stories as A Walk to Remember to our notice.  Nicholas Sparks writes a character driven story about the choices we make and how they affect our lives.   Travis and Gabby are memorable characters, as is the secondary cast.   Fully developed, they feel remarkably like close friends.   The reader is privy to an inside look at a couple falling in love and the story continuing through a time span of 11 years.  Readers get to know the characters through the story, as  Nicholas Sparks shows off his impeccable storytelling prowess.   I laughed, I cried and I cheered these remarkable people on as they overcome obstacles and follow life’s journey.   THE CHOICE is a book well worth adding to your keeper shelves and you will not be disappointed with the time spent enjoying this one.
