It had all seemed so simple in the beginning.  Liam wanted Peta more than he had ever wanted any other woman in his somewhat jaded life.  After falling in love once and having his love thrown back in his face, Liam knows that he will never love again.  Marrying Peta who wanted children as much as he did, but couldn’t see falling in love anytime soon seemed like the perfect solution to both of their problems.  But a year later, their problems are only just beginning.

Peta had never felt such hunger for a man in her life.  When Liam suggested getting married so they could get her parents and his grandfather to stop matchmaking, as well as start a family it seemed as good an idea as any.  Peta’s biological clock was ticking away, and she didn’t see any prospects in her future.  Liam was everything she could hope for in a husband, but on the day of their first wedding anniversary Peta realizes she had no idea what she was getting into.

Peta and Liam must battle scars from the past as well as confusing feelings to find their way out of the mess they’ve created.  To complicate matters, after a raging fight Liam finds a tiny baby girl left on their doorstep.  Can the love and caring this baby needs help the two of them to recognize their love for each other?

Kate Walker once again shows why she is the diamond in Mills and Boone’s crown of authors.  Her talent for pulling the reader into the story and making them feel every outrage, hurt, and ounce of joy her characters experience is unsurpassed.  I read this book voraciously cover to cover without coming up for air.  If you need a little Christmas magic in your life, this should be an automatic buy.
