Autumn Leeds isn’t exactly chomping at the bit to marry Ethan. In fact she has no intention of marrying him at all. Her sole reason for responding to his YouTube video and coming to Montana is to get a juicy story for CityPretty Magazine – or risk unemployment. She was raised by a single mother who instilled the value of supporting yourself before concerning yourself with marriage and children and for the most part she’s taken those lessons to heart. What she doesn’t expect is to actually be attracted to Ethan enough to make her question her mother’s life lessons or her own priorities.
What starts out because of a practical joke has lasting consequences because Ethan and Autumn soon discover they can’t keep their hands off each other and they are definitely in love. The trouble is they both have secrets that could destroy any chance at happiness – for him it’s the dire financial state the ranch is in, never mind the fact that he did not personally advertise for a bride… for her, it’s her intentions to write an article regarding his desperate bid for a wife. Can their fledgling relationship survive the fallout from truths and a devious ex-fiancée.
Thanks to YouTube, Craigslist, and online dating sites hooking up via the internet is no longer a taboo idea, but combine a cowboy who doesn’t use a computer for anything more than a paperweight with a YouTube video of him seeking a bride and things are bound to get downright interesting. Cora Seton’s THE COWBOY’S E-MAIL ORDER BRIDE snagged my attention because of the title but the storyline is just as fun, exciting and downright sexy as I’d hoped it would be. I absolutely love Ethan and Autumn’s relationship which seemed to move at record pace but is still exciting and full of all the emotional drama you’d expect with any romance. I think my favorite thing about this story though is the friendship between Ethan, Rob, Jamie, and Cab which obviously they’ve shared for a long time and while they are great friends they also can’t resist succumbing to childish pranks – which quite honestly are outlandishly funny most of the time.
