Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock is a sound that Lara Mancini keeps hearing.  The sound of her biological clock ticking away her time to conceive has Lara starting to worry.  Too bad the one man she would like to make a baby with doesn’t look at her that way.  For Lara, Dr. Derek Cross is ideal father and husband material.  Now can she convince him that she is more than just a great nurse, but can be a great mother and wife too?

Being a doctor at Manhattan Multiples definitely keeps Dr. Derek Cross busy, but not too busy to notice how sexy his nurse is.  As much as he is tempted by Lara, he knows he can’t give her what she really wants, marriage.  After being divorced once and having a lonely childhood, Derek doesn’t want to trust anyone to keep promises, especially to his son.  Derek knows how disappointing it is to have promises broken and doesn’t want his son hurt.  But will Derek be able to resist Lara after stealing a kiss and his five-year-old son’s attempt at matchmaking?

This is another awesome book in the Manhattan Multiples series.  Jennifer Mikels delivers a set of heart-warming characters that capture you from the beginning of the story.  I was cheering Lara on through the whole book.  This book had my devoted attention from the very first page.  I can’t wait for the next book in the series.  I am also looking forward to seeing what Jennifer Mikels has in store for us next.
