Daniel Wright cannot forget the woman who came to him in the middle of the night and made love at the hotel. He could see very little of her in the faint light filtering in from outside and she never told him her name. He suspects that his secretary, Lily, could be the mystery lady. After all she has become very evasive lately.
Lily and Davis have a simple plan to achieve conception. Davis is gay and since there will be no seduction or romance involved they agreed that she’d get his key card from the front desk at the hotel where they’re staying during a business trip, go to his room that night, leave the lights off and they’d copulate. Hopefully they’d make a baby, but if not they’ll try again next month. Only the plan goes very wrong when the front desk clerk gives her the key card and room number to Daniel’s room instead of Davis’s. It isn’t until they’re on their return flight to Toronto that Davis asks her where she’d been the night before because he’d waited up for her and she never showed. Lily thinks that he’s teasing but from the expression on his face knows that this is no joke. She explains that she did exactly as they’d agreed and she had sex with a man in room 344, unfortunately, Davis was in room 342. Having sex with an unknown man is horrifying enough, learning that it is her boss is mortifying. There’s no possible way he can figure out that it was her, can he?
Three weeks after returning to New York from the business trip to Toronto, Daniel still can’t stop thinking about the incredible mystery woman who'd come to his bed. He has his suspicions but nothing concrete until he overhears Lily and his cousin, Davis, discussing baby making plans. He jumps to conclusions and assumes they’ve hatched some great plan to have his baby. He’s determined to make sure that Lily regrets ever involving him in her scheme . . . right after he completely satisfies his desire for her.
Peggy Hunter will delight readers with THE WRONG MR. WRIGHT. This whole storyline revolves around a series of mix-ups and misunderstandings that will have you shaking your head in wonderment at the reactions of each of the characters and what they believe the others could be thinking. Lily is an honest young woman who wouldn’t do anything to hurt another person. She simply wants a child and has enlisted the help of her good friend to achieve her goal. Davis adores kids and sees the proposition of having a baby with Lily as a blessing. Daniel is a financially well off businessman who is operating under the assumption that there’s a plot against him. I had a great time reading this story and loved every bit of the witty dialogue. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more books by Ms. Hunter.
