Sara Hawthorne meets Connor Nolan at the age of eighteen when he’s helping cater one of her parents elaborate parties.  Though she knows her parents would never approve, it is love at first sight and a deep bond begins to grow.  Two years later, Connor and Sara elope, flying to Ireland for a passion-filled honeymoon.  Their time as husband and wife is cut short, however, when Connor dies in a boat explosion.

Racked with grief, and with the newfound knowledge that she carries Connor’s child, she allows her parents to take her home.  Sara feels responsible for Connor’s death and sees returning to her loveless home as a fit punishment.  Afraid of having no way to support her child, she agrees to marry Steven, a marriage arrangement that her parents forced upon her to better their business connections.  Before she can go through with the wedding, Connor’s best friend Aaron sweeps in and whisks her away.

She slowly finds peace and love again with Aaron, creating a warm family for her son.  Just as things seem to finally be coming together for Sara, Connor shows up, explaining how he’d escaped death and demands to have her back.  Connor is her soul, but Aaron is her safety.  Her heart is divided.  She knows no matter which one she chooses, someone will get hurt and a piece of her will go missing.  The question is; which piece will she be able to part with?

TILL DEATH DO US PART is an emotional read.  There was humor in a few unexpected places that had me laughing through the tears.  The suspense and angst remains constant, you don’t know who Sara will end up with until the very end.  I felt genuinely sad for both heroes and hated the idea of one ending up without a heroine.  E. Jamie penned an extraordinary situation and made her characters and circumstances come to life, dealing with everything in a way the average person might.  TILL DEATH DO US PART is a wonderfully complex read that really made me think about the unplanned circumstances life sometimes throws at you.
