When Liz Aspen met her new neighbor for the first time, she instantly had a new star for her midnight fantasies. When he turned up in a new role-rescuing her from a mugger, she found herself falling for him, head over heels. After a volcanic first date, Liz is stunned when Sam turned up on her doorstep the next afternoon, sporting two gunshot wounds. Had she gotten in over her head with her newest affair? Would the dangerous men targeting him take her down as well?

Sam was a man on a mission. After a mistake in his youth led to his younger brother’s addiction to drugs, he had dedicated his life to tracking down the drug dealer responsible for putting his brother in a coma. Finally, the end of his mission was in sight, all he had to do was maintain his cover long enough to get his man. What he didn’t count on was the crazy attraction for his new next door neighbor, or his sudden willingness to do anything to keep her safe. However, his track record wasn’t the best, and everyone he had ever loved had been hurt. Would Sam be able to put the past behind him and make a future with Liz, or will he stay crippled by his pain?

With an excellent cast of supporting characters, a villain that adds just the right element to the story, and a romance that is smoking hot, UNDERCOVER LOVER is an excellent read from start to finish. Sam is such a tortured hero, fighting to atone for what he feels are the mistakes he made in his past, that he doesn’t feel that he deserves love. Lucky for him, Liz is willing to make him see otherwise. The attraction between the two is intense, made even more so by Sam’s feelings that it can’t last. Excellent job!
