Boniface's THE WINTER'S WONDER was a quick read at only one hundred and twenty three pages and I actually read it in one sitting. The story was fast paced and it spanned a short amount of time around Christmas. The chemistry between Zane and Becca was immediate and shocked both of them since neither was the other one's type and he had left town long ago not even finishing high school because of all the trouble he was always getting into. They are good for each other since he gets Becca to focus on things outside of work and her animals and she gives him a safe harbor since she's nothing like his usual dates. They also seem to have fun together and is just what the other one needs.
The descriptions of the scenery, the buildings and the animals are so vivid I feel that I am there. I can feel the cold from the snow storm and the heat from the stoves. There are family and friends, jobs, animals, history to be shared, laughs, happiness, lots of fooling around, fear, anger, hurt, dating and some romance. Zane and Becca are getting closer and they are good for each other. Becca's sister seems to be getting her personal life back on track too. There is some closure and I hope we meet up with them in the next book in the series.
Boniface is a new to me author and I look forward to reading more of her books if this is her caliber of writing. I do hope to read book one in this series as well as other books she's written.
