Emily has been secretly in love with Grey for years, although her parents disapprove of him. Still, she never believed he could return her feelings. When they arrange a marriage for her with a marquess, she has hopes of falling in love with her new husband. But the marriage turns out to be a disaster, just as her brother Thomas predicted. When her husband is murdered shortly after Emily becomes pregnant, she begins to fear for her own life and that of her baby. Hearing of her estranged brother's shooting, Emily longs to go to him, but she is afraid of involving him and her parents in her situation. When Grey arrives to escort her there, she refuses to go, until a fire forces her out of her home. During their two-and-a-half-day trip to London things between Emily and Grey turn heated.
Grey is enchanted by the lady that Thomas' bratty sister has turned out to be. She affects him as no other woman ever has. He saved her life during the fire and now he is determined to keep her and her unborn child safe. But how can he do that from Spain?
Delightfully swoon worthy, ALONG CAME A ROGUE, the second book in author Anna Harrington's THE LIFE OF SCOUNDRELS series, is a clever, sensual tale that readers of historical romance are sure to love. With undeniable chemistry, humor and a touch of mystery, this story is a delight. There is no denying that Grey is a bit of a rogue, but this all changes after he meets Emily. The chemistry and the love between these two characters leap off the page.
I am always on the lookout for authors to add to my 'must read' list, so I was thrilled to discover Ms. Harrington. Although I have not read the first book in this series, I had no trouble following the storyline. Still, fans of this series will be delighted to know that the characters featured in that book are revisited in this second installment. This story captured my attention from the very first page and held it right up to the end. ALONG CAME A ROGUE is a compelling romance that keeps readers thinking about it long after they finish reading the story. I look forward to reading the first book, DUKES ARE FOREVER, as well as the third book, HOW I MARRIED A MARQUESS. I recommend that you pick up a copy of ALONG CAME A ROGUE and discover the wonderful world of Anna Harrington for yourself.
