Marian is sent to court by the queen to spy on Prince John and report back to her just what is really going on. On the way she is captured by Robin Hood and his men and soon realizes that he is an old friend. She is saved by William the Sheriff of Nottingham and is whisked away to court. One thing soon makes itself known, it seems Prince John has taken an interest in her in a very sensual way and won’t take no for an answer.
William soon realizes that the only way to save her is by claming her as his own and keeping her out of Prince John’s clutches. Sharing her bed is just a plus and Marian finds herself giving in the to pleasures that William shares with her. In her heart she longs to be with Robin, but sworn to the queen that she will stay at court. Torn between two men, Marian finds herself in quite the predicament.
Readers should not go into this thinking of the Robin Hood tales from childhood. This is not a children’s story by any means and the sensuality is burned in every page. Marian is a wonderful character who is caught between duty and her heart. Robin is the same suave character you remember and William is nothing like the old villainous Sheriff of Nottingham you remember. BOUND BY HONOR is a new and creative twist on an old legend and you will find yourself eagerly turning the pages to see just what will happen next. I believe that Colette Gale did an excellent job in recreating the story of Robin Hood and readers certainly won’t soon forget this tale of lust and longing.
