LITTLE RED WRITING

Nicolas de Savignac, Comte de Lambelle, is a newly stated Musketeer determined to make an early rise to captain and surpass his late brother David’s accomplishments. Nicolas seizes the opportunity to do the king’s bidding when it comes to his attention that some illegal publications are being distributed that are all but pointing fingers at the men of the aristocracy, depicting some rather scandalous acts. His search leads him and his friend Thomas, Comte de Gamory, to the steps of his estranged grandmother. It seems she is the patroness to three beguiling sisters, who have a talent for writing. While all are charming, it is Anne de Vignon and her passionate poetry that captivates him. She incites desires in him like no other, and he is equally as stimulating to her. Nicolas tells himself that he can use this to his benefit to draw out the culprit with the added benefit of enjoying some mutual pleasure on the side. However, as their intimate escapades start to engage more than their physical being, he finds himself torn between the loyalties of the heart and his duties to the king.

 

 

BEWITCHING IN BOOTS

The king’s beloved daughter, Elisabeth de Roussel, is no virgin maid. She has her pick from the men of the court and is used to getting whatever she wants. She is scared that her father is soon going to marry her off to some unworthy man. Elisabeth will have none of it. There is only one man that she wants and that is Tristan de Tiersonnier, Comte de Saint-Marcel, ex-commander in the king’s private guard. She steadies her determination and sets out to Tristan’s place to seduce him. Tristan, having been recently injured and replaced at post, is broken in spirit and in no mood for his conniving flirtatious visitor. If he is to proceed with any sort of entanglement with her, she’ll play by his rules. The two set out on a sexually charged game of cat and mouse that yields the most unexpected results for both of them.

 

 

Curl up with AWAKENED BY A KISS and enjoy the wickedly delightful tales loosely based on SLEEPING BEAUTY, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD and PUSS IN BOOTS. Lila DiPasqua brilliantly pens three unique stories filled with mirth, passion and sinfully charming heroes. The historical period adds a nice ambiance, and her attention to detail is wonderful. In SLEEPING BEAU, the awakening by a kiss is used both literally and figuratively to bring the hero and heroine together. Though quite steamy, the underlying layer of self acceptance and overcoming one’s past was well received. I enjoyed the twist in how ‘the wolf’ and the grandmother were dropped into LITTLE RED WRITING, plus it has a few unexpected surprises I didn’t see coming. This was, quite possibly, my favorite of the three, though they were all greatly enjoyed. BEWITCHING IN BOOTS features a strong willed heroine, a suitor that is perfect for her and several torrid encounters. This collection is a great addition to add to your bedtime readings.
