Tristan of Brittany was set to wed lady Lysette of Coventry by the decree of William the Conqueror.  Although a political marriage, he doubted it would bring peace for William or for him. After all, he would be marrying a Saxon, one related to the leader of a potential uprising.  And although Tristan grew up in a female household, he was a warrior and had no inkling of how to be a husband.  Lysette had a romantic nature and hated the thought of starting a marriage with distrust, but what else could there be between Norman and Saxon?  She would have to prove herself to him and his people.  Can Tristan and Lysette find love amidst intrigue and political upheaval?

FOR THE LOVE OF A KNIGHT is a pretty standard format historical romance, but that certainly doesn't mean it is not enjoyable.  The general plot is predictable, but getting from point A to point B involves some intriguing twists and turns that make the story a fun and interesting read.  Tristan is a pretty typical knight, honest, brave and loyal.  He's not sure about this political marriage but he is willing to try.  Lysette is full of trepidation as well, but she likes what she sees when she watches Tristan interact with others.  The relationship progresses quickly simply because this is a novella, but it is believable in context.  There is some mystery and intrigue thrown in to spice up the romance.  FOR THE LOVE OF A KNIGHT is a nice, enjoyable little read; perfect when you want to escape for a short time.
