Lord Nathan has the reputation of being a rake and a rogue of notorious fame. He wants to reform and repair his relationship with his family. He knows that finding a proper wife would go a long way toward winning acceptance. When Lady Iona comes seeking his help he knows he has found the woman he wants to marry. He has the problem though of trying to keep her out of trouble. The more he tries to protect her reputation, the more she is determined to find disgrace. When her lessons turn passionate, he knows he should turn her away but he finds that he can not deny them both what they desire.
Dorothy McFalls brings to life the regency era in her emotionally stirring romance, LADY IONA’S REBELLION. True entertainment is found in this story as two very likeable and compelling characters become involved in some wild misadventures. Passion begins to awaken and it is easy to see that these two share something deeper, if only they can stay out of trouble long enough to recognize these feelings for what they are.
Iona is a young woman ahead of the times. Her determination to avoid marriage at any cost kept me reading just to see what she would do next. Unfortunately, she drags poor Nathan along with her. I felt so sorry for this poor, tortured character. With the problems he already has he did not need Iona making them worse. Nathan’s story is one that touches the heart. He deserves to find someone to love. It is this reason that I found myself sometimes angry that Iona would involve him in her crazy ideas. This combination of exciting action and strong emotions make LADY IONA’S REBELLION by Dorothy McFalls easy to recommend to the readers.
