In London in 1896, Sharyn Winslow is on a crusade to help as many orphaned children as she can. The more troubled a child is, the more determined Sharyn is to save the orphan. She is uniquely qualified because she was an orphan herself. She also has a troubled past and even spent time in jail.

The detective that put Sharyn in jail was Nicolas Tyler, a handsome and stubborn policeman that believes in strict enforcement of the law. Sharyn couldn’t be happy enough to never see Nick again, but she does. She finds herself having to work with the detective when she interferes with Nicolas arresting a young orphan for stealing. She promises to take responsibility of the small girl and keep her out of trouble.

Nick’s philosophy is simple—once a criminal, always a criminal. He doesn’t believe the young child will stay out of trouble. He doesn’t believe Sharon, a former criminal herself, can possibly reform the child.

Will Sharyn’s love be powerful enough to reform the young thief? Can Sharyn make a believer out of Nick? Will love overcome the odds?

PURSING LOVE by Karen Hall is a wonderfully sweet story about love and acceptance. Reading this story made this reviewer believe that people truly can change. Perhaps the greater lesson is that just one person can make a difference in the world.
