Charlie McKenzie has loved Elizabeth since they were children, only they came from two different worlds and society wouldn't let them be together. Now as a bounty hunter Charlie's job is to keep people safe by hunting down the undesirables. When a serial killer targets both he and Elizabeth, he will do anything to keep her safe. One major hurtle is his job, but can he convince Elizabeth to look past it and give her heart to him?
I normally don't read historical romances, but I really enjoyed TEXAS HEARTS. Elizabeth and Charlie are a great couple and the sparks are obvious from the first encounter. The fact that they have a past as children is really sweet and makes the story that more poignant. Charlie is a rough riding bounty hunter that is tough to the bone, he also has a subtle sensuality that keeps readers on edge. Elizabeth is a perfect and proper lady that has strong convictions about bounty hunting, however, when she meets Charlie again their chemistry comes to life. The plot is a terrific suspense with the evil villian and of Charlie as the hero. I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Rachel Smith and with her great writing she will surely go a long way.
