Rikard believes that the woman he knows as George is nothing more than a human. It’s while she’s allowing him to look over Jinx’s spells for purchase that Graylin’s glamour drops and Rikard is able to tell that she is a dragon. He has no doubt that she is his mate and is determined to do whatever he has to in order to keep her. After their one night of wild dragon sex Rickard has a few questions. The big one is why is she not registered? He shackles her to his bed while he goes and registers her and has the council’s approval of their mating. Graylin has no intention of staying put . . . she enlists the help of her friend Hex and escapes. She realizes that she knows very little about Rikard and isn't so sure about her decision to mate him without knowing him better. Now the chase is on and it’s up to her to evade him as long as possible.
This is the first Viola Grace book I’ve read but I have to tell you this will definitely not be my last. I loved the vast array of characters in this storyline. Graylin’s friends are a riot and her mother is amazingly supportive - they’re just the sort of people everyone should have in their lives. Ms. Grace's sense of humor shines through the pages and brings these characters to life so that you can't help but love them. ABANDON is the third book in the HALF BLOOD CLUB series and from what I’ve read here it’s a series you won’t want to miss. I’m now going to have to go read the first books of this series, MAGUS SHIFT and AFFINITY, and of course get a copy of ARCHIVE, the last book in this series which is now available as well.
