Athan is a singularly unique creature—a being created by two scientists from the body parts of two different men. He is a miracle of human creation, but also a lonely being. When Korrie Odell comes to his home seeking the answers to his creators' mysterious research for the institute she works for, he is attracted to her, but wary. His secret is a closely guarded one, and he could be risking everything if he tells her the truth of his own existence. Korrie is naturally attracted to Athan, as he was engineered by his creators to attract sexual partners to him like bees to honey. Powerless to resist, she unexpectedly realizes that there are much more powerful forces at work that have placed Athan in her path. However, Korrie's rival from the institute will stop at nothing to discover the secret of the research and is willing to kill anyone in his way, including Korrie. As the action builds to a fever-pitch, sacrifices are made, both in the name of revenge and in the name of love.
