COME HELL OR HIGH WATER takes the reader on another adventure in the BROKEN HEART series. Phoebe is another single parent who is trying to raise her son the best she can. She isn’t a saint and she still has her moments of self doubt but she takes a leap of faith and risks it all for a chance at happiness. Connor’s motives are in the right place. I could see it when he is with his sister, Jennifer. He is just cautious with his heart and fears rejection. I think that is why he wasn’t honest. He was afraid that he would be rejected and his plan would be all for naught. The secondary characters are a mixture of both old and new which helped to continually move the overall storyline forward. I was very surprised to see a new development being introduced but it opened up some very interesting possibilities. I’ve always loved the BROKEN HEART series by Ms. Bardsley and I look forward to reading what happens next. The characters are a wonderful group and I’ve grown to love them and it’s a wonderful treat to peek into their lives in Broken Heart.
