Luke Klaus is a man on a mission.  It’s up to him to reintroduce Noella to the joys of Christmas and if he can’t get her back in the spirit then Christmas is going to be canceled.  Spending time with Noella is no hardship.  She’s got curves in all the right places and a spirit that seems infallible; she just needs a little rejuvenation of Christmas spirit and he’s just the man for the job. 

 

Noella is a challenge Luke eagerly embraces.  His duty might be to get Noella to believe in Christmas wishes and actually make a wish of her own… but there’s nothing wrong with mixing business and pleasure.  Just Luke’s presence has been a balm to Noella’s frayed emotions and she’ll gratefully accept whatever time she has with him before he has to leave again.  He refuses to share anything about his life so she has no idea what he does for a living or even where he lived until he came back to Destiny.  What she does know is Luke in all his leather wearing, Harley riding glory is exactly what she wants under her tree this year but making a wish?  Well, that’s for children who haven’t been disappointed one too many times, right? 

 

Dawn Montgomery’s THE OTHER KLAUS brings to mind all those ‘do gooders’ who always seem to be cheerful and in a holiday spirit and makes you wonder if they really feel that way or if it’s a cover for their sadness and disappointment.  While I loved the military precision of Luke’s mission and his enthusiasm for his task its Noella’s emotional see-sawing that makes this story so endearing and memorable.  Of course if you have to be miserable at Christmastime, who better to do it with than a sexy man who actually helps with all those tedious Christmas chores and deliver on your private Christmas fantasies.
