The Pridelands 1: Darren's Surprise

Darren Coleman is very worried. His brother Aaron is missing. Darren has been living in a cabin in the area where Aaron disappeared in the hope of finding his brother. He is having erotic dreams. In them he cannot make out his lover’s face. One night Darren experiences a surge of creativity unlike anything that he has experienced before. The next morning he sees that he has painted an entire world filled with well-endowed cat-men who fly around in spaceships. He is amazed and aroused by what he has drawn.

Durai Steinsson is the leader of his pride. Being pride leader is a difficult job, and he longs for a mate to share his life with. He agreed to bring the human Aaron and his mates back to Earth so that Aaron may visit with his family. Durai is uncomfortable because he has been having dreams about a man he assumes is Aaron. He knows that the human is not his to claim. He doesn’t understand why another Leo’s mate holds so much fascination for him.

Darren can’t believe his brother is back, and he is not alone. He brings with him cat-men just like the ones in Darren’s drawings. There is one in particular that captures his full attention. He feels an instant attraction to Durai. Durai is startled and overjoyed to realize that the man in his dreams is not Aaron after all but his brother. He feels a strong urge to claim his mate but he knows he must be patient in order to convince Darren that they belong together.

THE PRIDELANDS 1: DARREN’S SURPRISE is the beginning of a new series that continues to explore the world of The Fildae. I was very excited to read more about The Fildae and I wasn’t disappointed. I found the members of Durai’s pride very appealing. I can’t wait to read more about them. Darren and Durai are my favorite characters so far. I especially think Darren is adorable. This is yet another steamy and captivating story from Jade Buchanan. The ending left me impatiently longing for more. Those new to this series will be drawn in by Darren and Durai’s story, and those who are already fans will not be disappointed.
