Clay Morgan, a software consultant, comes from a family of witches and warlocks. His “magic” is basically limited to casting spells on anything with a computer chip and some other machines. He uses his magic to make programs and machines do what he wants them to do, which has made him successful in his work. Tall, dark and handsome, he does not date one woman for any length of time – shying away from relationships. However, he knows that one day he, like the rest of his family, will find his soul mate, but presently is in no hurry. 

Francie Stevens works for Brazos Chemicals. She believes in science, not magic.  Having been hurt once by a former boyfriend, she goes out of her way to appear like a mousey nerd to avoid any relationships. Now it seems that someone has been hacking into the company computer from her home system when she is not home. That someone is her best friend Tamara’s boyfriend, Kevin.

Clay is called in to setup the hacker and make sure the company system is secure. To do this it is decided that he will pose as Francie’s boyfriend to get close to the hacker. However, Clay is not fooled by Francie’s disguise and is attracted to her immediately. Francie fights her attraction to Clay, not wanting to get involved with a playboy. She is not happy about keeping the truth from Tamara, but knows that is the only way they can get to Kevin. As Clay, believing she may be his soul mate, continues to pursue her, she continues to fight her strong attraction to him. Could she possibly be his soul mate? Will she accept the idea of magic? Can they get the hacker behind bars before it is too late? How will the deception affect her relationship with Tamara?

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC is an enjoyable read. This story is filled with romance, suspense and enchantment. As the reader slowly gets to know the characters, it is hard not to root for them as a couple. It is interesting to watch as the main characters conduct their investigation while getting to know each other. The secondary characters add to the appeal of this story. I recommend DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC to readers who enjoy a magical romance.
