Logan Andrews is a Seattle-based troubleshooter for the magical security guards known as Gineal. His job is to protect the innocent from dark magic. He and his family were born into magic. He has been training since he was twelve years old.

Shona Blackwood is what is known as a dormant, she hasn’t come into her powers yet. She is unaware that she is descended from magic users or that magic exists. She has been leading a normal life as an aspiring glass artist.

An unseen enemy, thought to be a Taireil, is after Shona. Logan is assigned by the Gineal to protect her. The more he becomes involved, the more things don’t quite seem to add up. He is dedicated to his duty in locating her assailant, but finding his attraction to her to be a distraction.

He had been trained to control his emotions, but being around her was making that impossible. Shona and Logan were drawn to each other almost immediately and soon Logan wants to find the source of her danger for far more personal reasons than his job assignment.  Keeping his relationship with Shona isn’t going to be easy though and there are twists in his case he won’t see coming.

Patti O’Shea does a brilliant job in the third book of her LIGHT WARRIORS series, EDGE OF DAWN. I fell in love with her writing and have ordered the first two books in the series. She brings a whole new level to urban fantasy. The fast-paced, edgy feel had me glued to it almost non-stop. The build up and chemistry between Logan and Shona is so hot; I really got into reading as their relationship progressed. On a side note, Shona is the sister to Creed, the hero of book two in this series. I look forward to more work by Ms. O’Shea and hope to see a new LIGHT WARRIOR novel release soon!
