Aaron is very critical of her beginning sketches, which annoys her.  She finds his thoughts of her work to be harsh.  She cannot figure out what it is he wants from her.  He pushes her relentlessly and if she did not have such regard for his art critic opinon she would have been left the job. 

 

The more time she spends with him the more she finds herself falling in love with this hard man.  He makes her push herself beyond her comfort level to achieve the best work.  She is painting better than ever but when the job ends will she be able to walk away from this man.

 

Aaron Ioannides is a handsome, single art critic with an impressive private collection. He  commissions Hallie to do a portrait for him.  He is a hard, demanding boss but he only wants the best for Hallie.  He wants Hallie to be his forever.  He was sneaky in manipulating her into signing the contract before she read it and now if she wants the commission she will have to paint herself nude.  Hallie is angry at first but he knows she feels as attracted to him as he does to her.  He would need to use this time to get her to fall in love with him. 

 

Aaron is more than he appears and he fears once Hallie learns his secret she will leave him like all the women before her.  Aaron wonders if he should even take a chance and reveal his secret to her.  Would she love him enough to still be with him once the secret is revealed? 

 

This is a wonderful story with an ending I was not expecting.  I found the love affair between Hallie and Aaron to be sweet but not without obstacles.  They are not living in a fantasy, they know they have a short time together but it makes the love they share all the more true.  Excellent read with an unexpected ending.
