Admiral Peter Keller is extremely pleased to have captured a smuggling vessel called the Golden Stallion and its captain Blaise Risner. The Admiral wants to see the pirate suffer for his crimes against the Confederation. One look at the handsome man and his smart mouth and Peter begins to think that Blaise might have more to offer than the average prisoner. The Admiral occasionally chooses to rehabilitate prisoners aboard his ship using his own special program, and he decides Blaise will be his next recruit.

Blaise can’t believe he has been caught. He has always been so careful in the past. He has heard of Admiral Keller and knows he will not be able to bribe his way to freedom. He has no choice but to accept his fate. When suddenly the Admiral makes him an offer he can not refuse. He will be sentenced to three years hard labor for smuggling unless he agrees to serve his sentence aboard The North Star as Keller’s sex slave.

Blaise hates being forced into sexual slavery but anything is better than a prison camp. After all, the Admiral is a good looking man. Perhaps his time on the ship won’t be all bad. He agrees to Peter’s deal but he is determined that he will never allow his captor to break him.

HOT CARGO by Ariel Tachna and Nicki Bennett is a well written and extremely entertaining science fiction novel. This story is full of adventure and romance. As I read, I was captivated by the world the authors created. The sexual chemistry between Peter and Blaise sizzles. The BDSM scenes are particularly intense.

Both main characters are very well drawn. They both have intriguing histories and their development throughout the story is realistic and intriguing. The reader is able to follow the changes in their relationship as it shifts away from being purely sexual and gains in strength until it becomes strong and all-encompassing. Peter and Blaise are both hard and cynical but when they open up they find what they most need in each other. The plot is well thought out and I enjoyed following the mystery to its conclusion. I highly recommend HOT CARGO.
