Maximillian Prescott inherited his role as Guardian long ago as an orphaned teen and wields the element of Metal. While staying at the monastery where he was trained, he notices a woman steal ancient documents that are supposed to remain secret from the world. Max is taken aback by this, wondering how such a sweet innocent looking person could do such a thing. However, he knows first hand looks can be deceiving and follows her to the United States to take back the documents. The original plot is filled with just the right amount of humor, action, and romance to keep the pages turning.  Ms. Perry does such a remarkable job of building up passion with never quite taking things over the edge. The chemistry between her protagonists is highly tangible, yet the way they grasp at you individually is equally as compelling. Be prepared to fall into a world of ancient Chinese magic and smoldering guardians you won’t wish to escape from anytime soon.
