Mikaela Laughlin had a secret crush. For the last year at least, she had been lusting over “Delicious Diarmand,” but had never be able to get up the nerve to approach him. When her chance finally came, she just hoped she wouldn’t make a fool of herself. Interviewing him for her latest book, she just wanted to make a good impression, and if she managed to get a date out of the deal, that was even better! But Detective Redwolf has a secret, one that may change the way she looks at him, and might even risk her life. Will Mikaela be strong enough to deal with the trials coming her way?

Detective Diarmand Redwolf couldn’t believe what his senses were telling him. The beautiful human in front of him was his True Mate. But a dangerous man was bent on destroying everyone he cared about, and was obsessed with the idea of becoming a werewolf. The psycho had already killed one woman Diar cared for, and he didn’t want to have to see Mik on a slab in the morgue next. But for a wolf, instinct is to hard to resist, and his wolf knows that Mik is the woman for him. Would Diar be able to protect Mik from the dangers she doesn’t know about? Will Mik be able to handle finding out that Diar is an animal in more ways then one?

In the race to catch a dangerous serial killer, Mik and Diar discover that sometimes fate really does exist, and it is not always bad to follow your instincts. Wounds are healed, rifts are mended, and one woman becomes the key to a lifetime of happiness.

Oh my, PROTECT AND DEFEND sucks you in from the first page! Diar is such a delicious hero, Mik’s nickname for him is really perfect! Strong, sexy, and willing to do anything to protect his woman. Mik is a great heroine for him, because she is strong enough to stand up for herself if she needs to, and able to contribute to the relationship. The romance between the two was red-hot, and very well done. The villain in the story was creepy, and added the perfect element of suspense to the story. Excellent job!
