Haley Holmes is a parameteorologist on a mission. Sent into the field by her bosses to investigate the phenomenon known as Remy Begnaud, she’ll do whatever it takes to get close to this man. Haley will uncover his secrets and entice Remy to join ACRO no matter the cost. She never expected the draw she’d feel toward this amazing man, but she can’t deny it. Soon the lines of duty and lust are blurred and she finds herself caught in a storm of her own making
one she is sure she may never want to escape.
After leaving the Navy and returning to his home on the bayou, Remy encounters Haley. She's temptation and sin wrapped in a package he can't resist—together their passion rages as strong as the storms he can command. Constantly monitored by ACRO and pursued by an organization bent on destroying Remy at any cost, they face danger at every turn. Even as Haley surrenders to Remy's voracious sexual needs, she knows the biggest storm is yet to come—she'll face her worst fear, not the storm, not their enemies, but that she may end up betraying the man she's come to love.
Remy is a hero of exceptional skill and a depth so engrossing that readers will be hard pressed not to love him. Powerful, sensual, and dangerous, he encompasses the tortured hero persona to a T. He’s a man struggling to find his way in the world and to come to terms with his amazing abilities. Haley is very much what Remy needs and compliments him so well that their deceptions and misdeeds take a back seat to the passions they share.
Sydney Croft has proven with RIDING THE STORM that they, like Remy, are a force to be reckoned with. This story is so well-written and full of layers that I could barely put it down. Page after page, the action, danger, and sexual encounters had me breathless. RIDING THE STORM is a powerhouse of paranormal perfection from beginning to end.
RIDING THE STORM is exceptional beginning to a series full of promise and a unique twist on the paranormal genre. Sydney Croft writes with a passion and strength that will assuredly win them fans with every installment. RIDING THE STORM is by far one of the best debut novels I’ve read in a long time. It’s a definite keeper.
