Samael is a fallen angel who has been around since the First Angelic Revolt. He has spent the first several centuries of his time serving Lucifer as a Marquis of Hell. Recently, he’s given up his fiery dwelling for earthly digs to join the Alliance, a team created by Ambrose, a fellow fallen angel. The Alliance was formed to hunt down rogue vampires. His latest assignment is to watch over vampire assassin Jade and report her actions during missions back to headquarters.

Vampire assassin Jade has lived for many centuries and has seen much death in her time. It is, after all, a part of her job. As an immortal, she’s never dwelled on her personal expiration date and could focus on what she’s needed to do. However, when a psychic friend foresees her death, Jade’s skills start to become sloppy, which is drawing unnecessary attention to the Alliance. This has landed her handsome babysitter Samael.

From their first mission out, Samael understands Ambrose’s concern. Jade’s usual flawless tactics are askance along with her demeanor, which proves something is troubling her. He’s always been attracted to the brazen beauty, but she’s only responded with indifference. However, their new arrangement is bringing out a side to Jade Samael has never seen. The tension between the two bursts into a flammable chemistry that takes their breath away. Samael’s personal interests soon far outweigh his assignment, but can he get Jade to open up to him before it’s too late?

SAMAEL is a sultry supernatural full of suspense and spell-binding moments. The hero and heroine not only bring life to the plot, but their fellow assassins and antagonists, including Lucifer himself, fabricate an ensemble of memorable characters. Dawn McClure adds a unique voice to the world of vampires and fallen angels. I am drawn in by the compelling background she creates for her “angels” and the bold prose she uses to deliver her storyline.  After reading this, paranormal fans are sure to find themselves hunting down Ms. McClure’s backlist.
