Shiela Stewart’s SEDUCING THE DARKNESS is the first book in the DARKNESS series, and it’s got it all. A kickass heroine, two men who want her, a threat to the human race and top-notch secondary characters keep this tale moving. Trinity Ford is a vampire, but she’s also a vampire hunter. She recently walked out on her vampire lover, Basil, who created her seven years ago. She came home to find him in bed with another woman. But she still loves him, and Basil might have done it on purpose.
Young girls are going missing from Jacob’s Cove, but Trinity senses there might be more to this threat than a human could accomplish. She believes Chaos, Basil’s arch enemy, is behind the trouble. The name says it all, right? There is nonstop action while Trinity, Basil, and an investigator, Dante Vega, puzzle out what Chaos has in mind and how to stop him if they can.
Stewart’s writing rivals the intensity of the action and the characters’ feelings. It’s crisp, hard-hitting and as fast-paced as the action.
Trinity is tough and likes to kill vampires who feed on humans, but she’s got lots of love, too. Basil is a protective alpha, but Trinity doesn’t really want protecting. You can’t help but like all these characters.
