In LIONHEART, Mara Armand is an empath and head of the governing board of the Armand Institute.  An alien named Sander is contacting her nightly.  Sander is an Explorer from the world of Mirat, and his mission is the peaceful telepathic exploration of other worlds.  But Mara's contact with Sander is not quite as innocent as she made it sound to the board.  In fact, it was downright sensual!  But chances are, Mara and Sander will never meet anywhere but in her mind—you see, the Explorers were forbidden to have actual contact with war-like races, and with the current state of affairs on Earth and the domination of the World Federation, it was unlikely that Earth would welcome a visit from an alien species.  They were just finally rebuilding after being attacked by another alien race and prejudice against aliens was high, as was prejudice against fellow humans with special abilities, like those who made up the Armand Institute!

LIONHEART is a fascinating, engaging romance with futuristic/sci-fi and paranormal elements that make it a delicious read in more ways than one!   Kate Douglas writes awesome erotica that is hot enough to burn your socks off and LIONHEART is no exception!   The world Ms. Douglas created for StarQuest is well-written, well-described and extremely plausible.   Humans tend to be paranoid at times, and that paranoia about aliens is the main backdrop for this book and the series.   Although the aliens in this series are not shapeshifters, they are feline in nature and as such are both different and similar to our primate beginnings.   The romance between Mara and Sander is sweet, sexy, sensual and too hot for words!   If you enjoy explicit erotica, then this is a series you should enjoy!   A strong story line, some adventure and a wonderful romance make LIONHEART a terrific read!

In NIGHT OF THE CAT, the story of the Explorers from Mirat and the rebellion against the World Federation continues.   Jenna is a powerful undiscovered psychic talent brought forward from the Earth of the past into the Earth of the future.   She dreams of a dominant, beast-like lover, but never expects to awaken in a strange time bound in chains!   Garan is on Earth helping the Sensitives with their rebellion against the World Federation.   He initially thinks Jenna is a WF spy since she magically appeared in his chambers, but he soon discovers that she knows nothing of the WF.   As amazing as her story is, she truly is from Earth's past and the key to Earth's future.

NIGHT OF THE CAT is Jenna and Garan's romance amidst the background of the rebellion and the ongoing battle against the World Federation.   It contains all the same elements that make LIONHEART a wonderful read: action, adventure, hot erotica, and romance as well as a richly written world with engaging characters.   The continuing story line of the rebellion is full of excitement and has you turning the pages to find out what happens next.   The new romance adds spice and would be a terrific tale on its own but is even greater for the multi-layering with the background tale.   The sex scenes continue to be smoking hot and I found the developing relationship between Jenna and Garan to be almost more exciting than Mara and Sander's story.   NIGHT OF THE CAT re-introduces key secondary characters and is a terrific follow-up to LIONHEART.

In PRIDE OF IMAR, the saga continues as Garan's sister Sheyna comes to join the efforts of the rebellion and offer her assistance as a healer.   The World Federation has created a destructive machine that affects only Sensitives and Sheyna may be their only hope of curing those who have been attacked by the machine.   But Sheyna has much in her own past to overcome and she will not be able to do so without the help of Malachi Franklin, the rebellion's best healer.

PRIDE OF IMAR is Sheyna and Malachi's romance against the continuing saga of the rebellion.   Ms. Douglas's world continues to fascinate and enthrall and I found this romance to be the most heart-rending of the three.   Sheyna is our first introduction to the females of Mirat and she is a strong and loving character.   Out of all the females Sheyna touched me the most; what she faces on Earth is just a small part of the life events that have formed her into the compassionate character she eventually becomes.   Malachi is a deeply caring healer; a perfect partner to help Sheyna overcome both past and present trials.   The erotica in this tale takes a dark turn at times because of the villain but it moves the story forward and it is necessary to truly understand Sheyna.   The romance between our two leads is again smoking hot and explicit.   And even more touching for the struggles they go through.   I can't wait to continue reading the StarQuest series.   Ms. Douglas has a winner here!
