The population rejoiced when Metuselah was discovered, for here is the mythical fountain of youth that man has been searching for in the readily available form of a pill. However, all who partake of this "miracle" drug and the children born to them are afflicted with defective hearts. Only the artificial heart created by inventor, Tuesday Fitzpatrick, can save them. Many, however, will stop at nothing to get what they want from her.

Tuesday Fitzpatrick just wants to perfect her invention to better help those in need of it but nobody seems to want to leave her alone long enough to accomplish that. A smarmy cult leader keeps pestering her with unwanted attention, and the government's man is threatening to pull their funds. To top it all off, she is kidnapped and whisked off to god knows where by a familiar dashing man whom Tuesday swears she has never met before. Will Tuesday be able to get out of this mess alive and sane?

Marcus Sinclair is just one of the many who has an interest in Tuesday, and he will stop at nothing to gain her cooperation. Even if it entails spiriting the feisty inventor away for a chance to bring her to his side by whatever means, fair, foul or passionate.

Can the scientist learn to trust her kidnapper, who so obviously has his own agenda, despite the growing attractions between them? That question, and the many intriguing twists of this well written story is how Cyndi Friberg kept me reading until the very end. Her skillful teasing of mine and Tuesday's senses through Marcus's scorching seduction is just delicious icing on a very tasty book. Now if only the rest of the characters will emerge with their own stories!
