As a priestess of Luna, Zahra had dedicated her life to healing the warriors of her race. When a man she knew and loved from her school days is brought in, she is stunned to see that he has been reduced to an almost mindless beast. Able to form a connection with him on the most primitive level, she takes her first assignment as a priestess, and attempts to heal his broken mind. The process is slow, however, and the damage might be more then Zahra’s love can heal. Will Zahra be able to help him? Will the new love between the two be allowed to grow into something more?

As one of the most renowned healers of his kind, Jarek had made it a point to treat anyone who needed his help, regardless of their race. When a mercy mission went horribly wrong, Jarek’s mind snapped, leaving only his beast. When he came to the Temple, Jarek’s beast immediately recognized Zahra as his mate, but would a priestess of royal blood be allowed to mate with a commoner? Would Jarek’s mind ever return to him? Would he ever recover his faith in his own kind?

As a second installment in the TEMPLE OF LUNA series, SAVAGE NEED does an excellent job expanding on the start Ms. Rogers had already made. Jarek’s pain is almost palpable, and is especially poignant for anyone who has had a family member go through a similar experience. Zahra was the perfect heroine for him, because she was willing to do anything to heal him, even risk her own life. The love she had for him was very easy to see, and the love scenes between them really showed the depth of emotion. Very well done!
