Seth Kolski is a werewolf.   He hides his werewolf side in order to appear normal.   He keeps to himself although he has a deep-seated need to be part of a pack. He has always been a private person.   However, Seth's solitude has intensified since his sister disappeared two years earlier.   When Seth's loneliness drives him to seek out a companion, he never expects to meet up with the girl he loved as a teenager.

After her divorce, Jamie Buchner and her young son have moved back home to Ohio where her family lives. Jamie is desperate for a little adult conversation and interaction after spending her days as a stay-at-home mom.   She feels adventurous and decides to visit a local bar while her son spends the night with her parents. When Jamie catches the eye of a gorgeous young man, she is shocked and secretly thrilled to discover a friend from her past.

Jamie shyly welcomes Seth's attention.   When he extends an invitation for coffee, she accompanies Seth to his home.   Although he knows that they can only have one night together, Seth's passion is too strong to ignore.   Seth thinks that it would be impossible for any normal woman to love a werewolf.   Jamie can be his to love and cherish for one precious night, as he always wanted.   However, when secrets from the past threaten to expose Seth's secrets, the fallout could be disastrous for both of them.   How can Seth protect the woman he loves?   What will these star-crossed lovers do when their night together becomes public knowledge?

THE STRENGTH OF THE PACK is filled with love, sorrow, danger, and thrills.   Jorrie Spencer has created a cast of characters packed with human strengths and shortcomings.  THE STRENGTH OF THE PACK is so expertly written that I experienced the characters' pains, joys and needs right along with them. Spencer has put Jamie and Seth through intriguing trials and tribulations that they must overcome in their quest to be together. The story will definitely keep you riveted to the screen.   I found myself caught up in the romance as well as the intrigue from Seth's past.   From the first page, I fell in love with this story and the wonderful characters.   Spencer has certainly proven to be quite a talented writer and I look forward to more imaginative, well-written books from her in the future.
