Torc is a bounty hunter and mercenary.  On the run from the universal police force, he lands near a compound and begins formulating plans to remove a prized Delicant from her owner, a flatland Sheik.  Torc does not plan for failure because the reward money he will receive from rescuing this Delicant will allow him to stop running and finally have a place of his own.  Slipping quietly into the guarded palace, Torc overpowers the guards and snatches Ailyea, the Sheik’s Delicant.

Once Torc has her aboard his ship, the real challenge begins because Ailyea only knows how to please.  She has been trained so decisively that her feelings, wants, and needs have never been taken into consideration and she doesn’t know how to handle not being told what to do.  Torc wants that to change immediately.  Easier said than done.

Ailyea is surprised at her new master and does not understand him.  Fully aware of her value as a highly trained Delicant, she finds herself lost because her new Master does not want her to satisfy his sexual needs.  He doesn’t even want her to call him “Master.”  Feeling sad and unworthy, Ailyea decides to be the best love slave she can with the hopes that Torc will use her for his pleasure.  She finds herself wanting her handsome master to consummate their relationship, but is unable to voice these opinions.

Torc is bound and determined that Ailyea will learn how to think independently, even if it kills him.  Finding her attractive and wanting to protect her at the same time, Torc has to be extremely tough on Ailyea.  Amazingly, the tougher he is, the more she seems to crave his touch.  But he wants Ailyea to want him because it is what she wants, not something she was trained to do. Torc is adamant that he will not give in until then.

TORC’S SALVATION by Melany Logen is a futuristic novel with many BDSM elements.  Not for the faint of heart, it depicts some rough handling of women, which may make some readers a bit uncomfortable.  I was not one of those readers because this book enslaved me and did not release me until I finished reading the last word.

Fully aware of the D/s elements, I thought I was prepared for a good read.  What I got was a tremendous read with an inventive plot and wonderful characters.  The sensual elements of TORC’S SALVATION were extremely hot and very well written.  I love the title because I felt that not only was Torc saving Ailyea, but she saved his sanity as well.  TORC’S SALVATION released in October of 2006 and it has been sitting happily on my keeper shelf ever since!
