Strange things have been happening to Dr. Todd Warren. He has the startling ability to know what is wrong with patients before he even examines them. When he gets word that a young woman is being brought into the ER Todd is sure she has been eviscerated before she has even arrived. As he begins treatment, a woman claiming to be her mother enters the room, and before Todd even knows what is happening she turns into a large reptile like creature forcing Tom to defend himself and his patient.

Connor Stevens is unsure why he has been drawn to St. Michaels Medical Center all he knows is that he felt compelled to open a portal and step through without any idea where he is going. He immediately recognized Dr. Warren’s power and knows that he is about to undergo his transformation into a mage. Tom shows a surprising amount of control over his abilities. As a powerful mage, Connor knows that Todd is going to need a guide, and he is surprised by his desire to fill that role. More importantly, Connor is shocked to discover an intense attraction to the future mage. He has never been attracted to another man before.

In his novel VINCULUM James Hogue has created a unique and very intriguing universe. The plot held my interest. I enjoyed reading about all the different immortals and their society. Hogue also has some fun with history bringing in several famous historical people into his story. Todd and Connor are burning hot and they also have a very strong connection between them.  This story is an entertaining read!
