Adam Tyrell is a fire witch who protects his coven leader and is more than available to the ladies. However, he isn’t into serious relationships since his wife’s death. A sexual relationship is all he is interested in until he meets Claire. After saving her from demons, Adam finds that this innocent woman may just heal his jaded heart.
Claire has never really had a childhood. She was brought to the alien planet, Eudae, at six years old by her mother. She was always different and treated as less. When she meets Adam, she realizes that she can experience all the desires and passions that were forbidden on Eudae, but only if they took a chance. Can a man still mourning his wife find love with a woman who didn’t really know what it was like to live as a human?
WITCH HEART is the latest book in the Witch series. On the surface, Adam seems like a cad, only concerned with his Coven and sex. Yet he is a deeply emotional and honorable man who hides from the pain caused by his wife’s death. He doesn’t believe he will ever find anyone like Eliza and would never dishonor her memory. However, Claire seems to challenge all of his ideas. Claire lost so much. Enslaved on Eudae as a handmaiden for the powerful Ytrayi demon leader, Rue, she has never experienced the simple things that life has to offer. Although she is innocent, she has an inner strength that makes her stronger than the most powerful demon or witch. Together, they learn to work together to defeat the demons that threaten her and Earth. They also find that love is possible even for this unique coupling. It was nice to have the characters from the previous novels join in the battle as well as provide an interesting connection to Claire. I do hope that one character gets his own happy ending because he definitely deserves one. WITCH HEART is a welcomed addition to the series and readers who love Ms. Bast’s books will not be disappointed.
