Leila Abdera was considered one of the most untouchable women in The Lair-the Xylon underground haven. A Xylon Healer and Class 3 Warrior, she was respected and admired. And yet she had a reputation for being very picky about the men she took to her bed. It was rumored that she only took men whom she could dominate and control and never any of the ones who could touch her heart, take her breath away and dominate her soul!

Erik Rhodes had begun seeing visions of them making love together months before. These visions signaled only one thing-she was his. The visions only appeared to those few who were chosen to be mated for life. It occurred very rarely and Erik knew that Leila was having them, too. He just had to convince her to trust him - a Class 1 Xylon Warrior and one of the most dominant males in the Xylon World.

As the danger rises for the people of Xylon, Erik and Leila are caught in a tangled web of desire, treason and deadly intrigue.

A pleasure to read, XYLON WARS 2: HIS CARNAL NEED is one of the most creative and unique books I have ever read. There are many layers to it; and such layers add a sense of history, permanence and reality.

The tensions and reactions of the characters amongst each other make it interesting and quite a study of human behavior. Each character-even the most insignificant one-is portrayed marvelously. Ms. Kerce makes sure that everyone has his or her own personality. A definite strength in writing, she optimizes this ability very well. I wouldn't be surprised if many fans ask for Ms. Kerce to write more about certain characters that they like. Such is her ability to give them real voices and personality.

There is an almost epic series quality about XYLON WARS. With its undertones of war between the Xylon People and the Marids, their former leader's mysterious disappearance and other as yet unresolved conflicts, the feeling that there is something brewing under the surface pervades, and the suspense and excitement for the next installment-is killing us! (Ms. Kerce, if you're reading this, Hint! Hint!)

As an aside, I would like to write that I was fascinated with the supporting characters-most especially Halah-which reminds me so much of another favorite character of mine: Eve Dallas. They share the same single-minded intensity and dedication. Tough on the outside, once you peel through their hide, you find the softest core. I am definitely looking forward to reading more about her.
