Micheal
and Patty O'Donnell have just learned that they are going to be new parents.  Although both are very excited, Patty is quite upset when Micheal prohibits her from continuing horse training and traveling to any shows until after the baby is born.  While he is away, Patty is drugged, kidnapped and taken to another country.  When she awakes from the drug induced state, she is shocked and scared to learn that she knows two of the kidnappers.  She also knows that they will not hesitate to kill her and the baby if she does not comply with their demands.

When Patty learns of the reasons she was kidnapped, she does not want to have any part in their scheme for fear of never being able to train horses again, the only job she loves.  But she also feels compelled to help on old man get revenge for the wrong doings that he has suffered.  The old man assures her she will be able to go home after he has his victory, but she knows in her heart the other two will not let her leave.

Will Patty throw her career away to help a man receive justice?  Will Micheal find her before it is too late?

RIO STAR is a fascinating tale with captivating characters, gripping plot and vivid imagery.  Pepper Smith pens a tale that captures the reader from the very first page.  I could not put this intriguing book to rest until I finished the last page.  Patty is a woman who believes very strongly in right and wrong, but when she learns of the reasons for this scheme her beliefs waver.  RIO STAR is laced with murder, mystery, revenge and deception.  I laughed at the bantering, cried at the injustices and cheered at the end.   Bravo Ms. Smith for penning another captivating tale that took my breath away.  I look forward to reading more of your work.  RIO STAR is definitely an award winning tale in my library of books.
