Our main characters--both members of LOST (Last Option Search Team)--are Wade and Victoria. Wade is an ex-cop and good friend of Gabe, the founder of LOST. Victoria is a forensic anthropologist. LOST is where people go when all resources have given up on the "lost". In this case, LOST investigates the disappearance of a graduate student, one who's been missing for five years. When they go to the university where she was studying, another disappearance occurs. The body of the first student shows up, creating more questions than answers.
In addition to this plotline, we also have the chemistry between Viki (Victoria) and Wade. They both have deep secrets that could change how others, as well as themselves, perceive each other.
Ms. Eden makes us realize that things are not always black and white. Life is about shades of gray. Who are we to judge what someone does when we have not experienced their devastation?
This is definitely an emotionally challenging story to read, but one worth the rollercoaster ride!
Kudos to Ms. Eden. Other books in this series (BROKEN, TWISTED, and SHATTERED) are just as good. All stand alone.
