Ex-homicide detective Wade Monroe joined LOST after his best friend’s sister went missing. The fact that she had died in his arms still haunts him. Wade has always cared for Victoria, but it wasn’t until she nearly died from her recent injuries that he realized how deep his feelings for her went. Wade is determined to turn their partners with benefits relationship into one more meaningful, but he knows he will have to be patient with her.
As they arrive in Savannah and begin their investigation, another college student, Melissa, goes missing. The two cases seem to be related and their abductor is proving to be quite wily, staying one step ahead of them. But when it becomes evident that Victoria is to be their next victim, Wade will pull out all the stops to keep her safe. Can he save the woman he loves, or will the past repeat itself? Will their secrets destroy any chance at finding happiness together?
Adrenaline-packed, TORN, the fourth story in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cynthia Eden’s LOST series, is a fast-paced, sensual romantic suspense that will keep you guessing. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down, but it was well worth missing a night of sleep. Both Wade and Savannah are wonderful characters. With their vulnerabilities and heartfelt emotions, not to mention the fierce force of attraction between them, Wade and Victoria seem to step right off the pages and come to life. They are great at what they do, but they have each have things in their pasts that haunt them, giving them a realism that will endear them to readers. There are some scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat and others that will steam up the pages. I enjoyed this book immensely and cannot wait to read about some of the secondary characters in future novels.
Abductions, secrets, multi-faceted characters, danger, sizzling sensuality, healing and romance infuse this story, giving readers a compelling tale that will leave them eagerly anticipating this author’s next book. Although this book can be read as a standalone, you won’t want to miss Ms. Eden’s other LOST novels, including BROKEN, TWISTED, SHATTERED and her upcoming novel, TAKEN, due to release at the end of November 2016. If you like romance novels packed with suspense, sizzling sensuality and plenty of heart, be sure to pick up a copy of TORN. A definite keeper!
